More Flatness Collages!

I just love making collages. Collages to me is a very fun way to brainstorm ideas before creating the actual piece. Plus, it really works with my aesthetic and interest in mixing different materials together.

Flatness..

I was given a project to create a brooch with the concept of ‘Flatness’.

the collages, is what was flat on my sketchbook, and the brooch is the three dimensional interpretation of the flat collages.

I was looking at files in my laptop and I found all these amazing pics I used to collect for sources of inspiration and for fun.

So these are my discovery. Lots of colours, patterns, lines and textures.
I don’t remember where I got them though and the name of the artists. :(

INVASION

I’m stranded,

but I have power,

and so you’re all mine!

This project is a bigger project of the last post ‘surrounds me is me’. It still about making a landscape of the object. But this time the object is stranded in the landscape and because it is so powerful, its surroundings starts to have its character which what we can see is the texture that object has.

I called this SURROUNDS ME is ME.
the project was to create a mini landscape for an object where the object can be placed in. and that earring is the object. It was required to just use one element of different sizes and materials given.
So, I have chosen the curves elements ‘inside’ the earring to be its repetitive element.
